Interpretation of antibody confirmation test method
HIV-1/2 antibody confirmation test method (IC method)
This method is used for confirmation test of HIV-1/2 infection.
If the result of antigen antibody simultaneous screening test method is positive,
and the result of this method is negative or withheld,
and HIV-1 RNA quantitative (Real Time PCR Method) is detected,
it is considered to be acute HIV-1 infection phase.
If the definitive diagnosis was made by the single positive of HIV-1 NAT method,
the positivity is needed to be confirmed by this method within an appropriate period of time (after 2 weeks).

Either p31/gp160/p24/gp41 reacts, and the reactions of 2
or more items including either gp160 or gp41 are observed.
[HIV-1 Negative]
No reactions are observed for either p31, gp160, p24, or gp41.
[HIV-1 Withheld]
If it is neither positive nor negative.
[HIV-2 Positive]
Reactions are observed for both gp36 and gp140.
[HIV-2 Negative]
No reactions are observed for either gp36 or gp140.
[HIV-2 Withheld]
If it is neither positive nor negative.
Interpretation of HIV-1 nucleic acid amplification test
HIV-1 RNA quantitative (Real Time PCR method)
This method is used for confirmation test of HIV-1 infection, to determine the progression of the disease,
to decide timing to start treatment, treatment follow-up, etc.

HIV-1RNA was not detected. However, this result does not deny the presence
of HIV. Please determine comprehensively according to the clinical symptoms and the other test results.
